What is the Field Kit?
The Living Infrastructure Field Kit is a free platform for the Greater LA region. It provides planning tools and a guidebook of living infrastructure remedies, as well as current and historical, geographical, geological, ecological, economic, and demographic data to help us understand, design, and care for our neighborhoods together so that all life can thrive.
The Field Kit is for people or groups undertaking neighborhood transformation projects, government groups working to identify and respond to community and climate challenges, and anyone interested in learning more about their neighborhood or Greater LA.
The Field Kit can be used to:
Learn deeply about places in Greater LA
Review and compare data about unique cultures, ecosystems, and histories to determine places that most need attention and investment
Estimate costs and effects of remedies
Conduct collaborative workshops with communities
Validate lived experience with data
Facilitate collaboration between residents and experts or agencies
Create funding proposals
Create data visualizations to tell compelling stories about your place, project, or vision
Teach or learn about living infrastructure
The Field Kit works toward a resilient, thriving Los Angeles.
The Field Kit was developed through a partnership between Accelerate Resilience L.A. (ARLA) and Spherical, with contributions from organizations across L.A. County.
